The JumpStart Advisory Board was formed in the summer of 2006 and has since
continued to add talented and valuable members to the team.
Our team is made up of professionals from all walks of life, each one dedicated
to the development of the program, to the Jewish community, and to helping
newcomers find their place in the Canadian labour market.

Leo has been a JumpStart volunteer since 2007 offering us his marketing and advertising expertise. He is also a regular volunteer at a Toronto women's shelter. Married to Jeannie for 36 years, they are founding members of Solel Congregation in Mississauga. Leo immigrated to Canada as a young child with his parents and then at 25, moved to Toronto as a "newcomer" from Montreal. He enjoys tennis, golf, yoga, and on Sundays, visiting seniors. |

Jeffrey has been a JumpStart volunteer since 2007. Jeffrey is a partner of Schwartz Levitsky Feldman LLP, Chartered Accountants, specifically in their Business Valuations, Litigation Accounting and Corporate Finance group. Jeffrey has been involved in numerous not for profit organizations and is pleased to continue the tradition of assisting Jewish immigrants as commenced by his Bubby Clara subsequent to World War II. |

Mike Fox has been an executive recruiter in the technology sector for the last 16 years. His focus is on small and mid-sized software firms and he has extensive business and practical experience around what clients are looking for in their people. He was the co-chair of the Technology Division of the UJA Federation's annual campaign for three years running and is well-known in the Jewish community for his volunteer work. |

Alyson Gampel has ten years of Business Experience that includes Management Consulting, Career Counselling and Training & Development. She holds a BCOM from McGill University and a MBA from The Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University (Chicago) where she specialized in Organizational Behaviour, Strategy and Marketing. As the MBA Employment Manager in the Career Development Centre (CDC) at the Schulich School of Business, York University, she helps MBA students and alumni solidify, pursue and accomplish their career objectives. She has recently taken a temporary leave from the business world to pursue her new passion - raising her and her husband Shawn's new daughter, Paige. |

Raised in Montreal, Ron moved to Toronto in the early 1980's to open the retail division of his family business, Moores - the Suit People. As President of Moores, he helped grow the company to 90+ retail stores across Canada. Upon selling the business in 1996, he became and continues as president of a private investment firm, Augusta Holding, a company with significant investments in real estate, private equity and marketable securities.
Ron continues his compassion and commitment to the charity world. He is currently a member of the UJA foundation board, engaged and involved with the UJA campaign, JumpStart of JIAS, Just a Second Clothing and many more. He has been a leader and innovator in positions with Mt. Sinai Hospital Foundation of Toronto and Canada Breast Cancer Foundation. He also has had significant involvement with many other charities including: Heart & Stroke Foundation, Somali Women and Children's Support Foundation, LOVE, and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. |

Allan Rouben was called to the Ontario Bar in 1988 and carries on a litigation practice in
civil and criminal cases. He graduated with a B.A. from McGill University in 1982 and
received his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1986. Allan has been actively involved
in the profession, having served as a member of the Legal Aid Ontario Area Committee,
Pro Bono Law Ontario and a mentor for the Law Society of Upper Canada Practice Advisory
Mentorship Program. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Toronto Daily Bread
Food Bank and Partners in Caring. |

Sarena is a 25 year old marketing professional who works in print media and specializes in
trade shows and customer loyalty programs. She is a fashion trend-hunter and enjoys
kickboxing when she's not planning her upcoming wedding. A volunteer since she was a teen,
Sarena has served as president of her Hadassah Chapter, a hands-on volunteer with an
organization dedicated to feeding the poor and as a trainer at The Annual UJA Telethon.
She continues to mentor younger women on career and personal matters. Sarena has been a
JumpStart volunteer since 2006 and looks forward to increasing awareness and community
involvement of the program. |
