We thank our many caring and giving volunteers for sharing their time, talents and resources to help welcome and support newcomers to our community.

Here are some of the ways you can make a difference in the lives of a newcomer family:

Family to Family

Your family will be matched with a newcomer family to help orient them to their new home and community.

Connect skilled and professional immigrants to the Canadian labour market through a volunteer, mentoring, networking or employment opportunity.

Conversation Café

Volunteer at our Conversation Café to help newcomers practice their everyday English skills in a casual environment over a cup of coffee.

Telephone Language Companions

Help a newcomer practice conversational English skills by speaking on the phone together once or twice a week.

Homework Club

Help newcomer students advance their English and other academic subjects one evening per week.

Ready for School

Help newly arrived students prepare for entry into the Canadian School system. Ready For School is a two week intensive English language and community orientation program that takes place at the end of August.

Welcome Baskets

Put together baskets filled with small kitchen and home items to welcome a newcomer to their new home.
