Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)

Our Prevention of Harassment in the Workplace Policy was designed to assist JIAS Toronto with compliance requirements (in effect June 15, 2010) of Bill 168 amendments to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Policy Statement: JIAS Toronto is committed to maintaining a safe and secure Workplace for all individuals in the Workplace, and under no circumstances will JIAS Toronto tolerate harassment toward any individual in the Workplace.
All individuals in the Workplace have a right to work in an environment free from harassment. In furtherance of JIAS Toronto’s goal of promoting a harassment-free environment, JIAS Toronto hereby establishes the following guidelines:
- Each and every individual is responsible for creating and maintaining a harassment-free Workplace;
- JIAS Toronto will not tolerate harassing behaviour from employees, contractors, visitors, guests, or any others that attend at the Workplace; and
- Every employee, contractor, or visitor conducting affairs at JIAS Toronto’s Workplace shall be made aware of this policy, and JIAS Toronto shall make every possible attempt to communicate its commitment to a harassment-free Workplace.
When making a donation, you will also be asked for your credit card information. We process this information via a reliable third party, PayPal, using a secure, encrypted SSL session. SSL is the proven standard for secure transactions. We maintain records of financial transactions in a secure location accessible only by authorized staff. However, credit card information (card number, card type, expiration date) is never transmitted to JIAS Toronto by PayPal and we do not have access to this information.
We do not rent, sell or trade our electronic and print mailing lists or any information provided by you to us on our website. Our mailing lists are used to provide you with information on our activities, including programs, services, special events, funding needs, and opportunities to volunteer or to make donations to JIAS Toronto.
